Humidity Control
humidity changes
New technology at Aardvark Piano Restorations offers a way to control the wide humidity fluctuations surrounding your piano. We offer a device called a "Dampp-Chaser Piano Climate Control System;" and to date, over 250,000 have been successfully installed in pianos worldwide.
The system can prevent damage, maintain tuning stability and slow the aging process inside your piano.

The Dampp-Chaser maintains your piano at an average 42% relative humidity as recommended by major piano manufacturers. When your piano soundboard is kept at a constant moisture level, shrinking and swelling are minimized allowing your instrument to stay in tune longer. Installed out-of-sight, your piano will sound the way it was meant to, day after day. Some customers report that the device eventually pays for itself!

The system is made up of three basic components which work together to control the humidity levels within your piano, maintaining the recommended 42% relative humidity, no matter what the external conditions are.

COST: Between $275 and $375 depending on type and size of the piano.
